An End to Microsoft Open License Program
As you have probably heard, Microsoft ended its Open License Program on January 1, 2022. The Open License Program allowed smaller organizations to purchase Microsoft software licenses for products such as Office and Windows on a pay-as-you-go model.
Moving to Microsoft Cloud Service Provider (CSP)
Moving forward, in order to purchase new licenses or renew existing software licenses or online services that were accessible via the Microsoft Open License program, businesses are required to enroll in Microsoft’s Cloud Solution Provider (CSP) program or through an Enterprise Agreement. Both alternatives can be complicated and require careful analysis to ensure companies aren’t overpaying for the Microsoft solutions they need.
